Personality:

Since the day of her birth Starfire would forever remain a vessel of spirit and life. Even as a child she loved to express herself in the most odd and flamboyant ways and, up until now nothing has changed. Starfire is widely known for her angelic smile, her loving-kindness,ferocity, loyalties, her selflessness and her inability to cook anything digestible. Among her teammates, she's acknowledged as the glue that holds each and every one of them together. Her love for them and justice is steadfast and unwavering, so much so that it can either fuel her rage in battle or break her like a porcelain doll. Though technically down to earth, Starfire has a tendency to let her imagination run with the clouds at times. Her naivete about earthen culture makes her appear as a vulnerable target to some, but her other-worldly ingenuity (coupled with her crisp intuition) proves her far more sharper than what people take her to be. True, Starfire is as sweet as they come, but she also harbors a.....naughty streak.

Her place on the team borders between a loving sister and a caring mother. Like the rest of her rag-tag family, Starfire's endured more tragedies than anyone could count and yet her character makes it impossible for that to get her down. While she is aware that her history has carved her into the warrior she is today, Starfire doesn't dwell on it and pushes forward. As always she puts the needs of others ahead of her own so much so that the alien princess neglects herself. Time and hardship has proven her more than dependable, and sometimes she finds herself questioning whether or not she's appreciated for it. Akin to her Tamaranean nature, everything that makes her is tied down to her emotions. Her love is an eternal principle, and her savage rage on the battlefield is more than her innate birthright. She may indeed be sweet, there is a difference between a pleasant young woman and a pushover. Starfire is not an angel completely, but she is lightyears away from being a doormouse.


Abilities:

Super Strength
Starfire possesses great superhuman strength, virtually nothing has been an obstacle when it comes to crushing, lifting, or throwing something. Since her arrival on earth, she's had to curb her pressure to ensure that she doesn't accidentally kill anyone in battle or just shatter anything in general. As such, no one really knows the full extent of her strength.

Invulnerability
When angered, Starfire can go into a berserker state, granting her even greater strength, invulnerability, and immunity to many forms of damage. She is highly resistant to injury and can even survive unharmed in the cold vacuum of space.

Communicating
She has been able to mentally or psionically learn languages such as English or Japanese through physical contact allowing her to communicate in it with ease being omni-lingual. When she first arrived to Earth she learned English by kissing Robin, an encounter that gave fruit to their romance.

Energy Blasts
Starfire can generate energy blasts and release them from her hands or eyes (after transformation). These "starbolts" are very powerful and can even break through a wall of reinforced steel. . Using her energy manipulating abilities, she can absorb various energies such as radiation or solar energy which makes her immune to its harmful affects.

Flight
Starfire has the ability to fly at great speeds through both the atmosphere and interstellar space. Her long curly hair leaves behind a fiery red contrail during flight, which makes her hair appear even longer than it really is. The flight ability is common among her race, though it can be lost through a childhood disease ( Blackfire is one example). She is capable of controlling the rate in which she flies, but prefers cutting faster than the speed of light.

Combat Specialist
Starfire is also an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant, having been trained by the infamous Warlords of Okaara at a very early age. Her reflexes are cat-like, giving homage to her feline ancestors and kept sharp through her relentless sparring.

Alien Physiology
Starfire's body continually absorbs ultraviolet radiation, which she then converts into the energy that powers her star projectiles and her ability to fly. Starfire can also store a massive amount of this energy to use all at once in a devastating attack, [newly developed power]. After holding a great deal of energy in reserve, she can create a maelstrom of energy which resembles that of a star and will unleash a wave of destruction that can cause several full-blast explosions. Such a massive release of energy leaves Starfire in a greatly weakened state afterward, so she only resorts to this attack when absolutely necessary. It is not known what Starfire breathes, but she has said that she does not need oxygen. She also can see much further than humans, in more detail. Starfire's alien physiology also grants her immunity to gases.

When Starfire was born, her homeworld was at peace and the kingdom of her people prospered without a care in the world. She was the second of three children and the daughter of the highly esteemed Grand Rulers of Tamaran. Due to unfortunate complications that rendered Blackfire unfit for the throne, Starfire was labeled the heir apparent. For the nation of Tamaran, it was a promising rulership looked forward to; for Starfire.....it was a death warrant dotted to the T by her sister.

As the years flew by the fiery sparkling became quite popular with her nation. She proved to be an exemplary crowned princess and showed signs of posessing the right heart for ruling over Tamaran's valiant kingdom. The more Starfire began to shine, the greater Blackfire's darkness grew. Naturally Starfire was blissfully unaware of her sister's unadulterated hatred for her, a quirk that gave her a hard lesson to learn. When both girls became adolescents, as tradition went they were sent abroad to train under the mightiest warlords of Okaara. It was there that, during a brutal training session, Blackfire assaulted Starfire with all intents on killing her. The assault failed and Blackfire was expelled, with a threat swearing vengeance against her "Dear baby sister". Starfire.....never saw her sister again after that.

Until she was about 15 years old.

Emerging from Okaara as a full-fledged warrior, Starfire returned to her planet and spent eighty-five percent of her time shaping up for the position of Grand Ruler. Without warning, the kingdom was attacked by the notorious Gordanians with such force that it left Tamaran's defenses blind. Upon learning that the Gordanians wouldn't stop until they grazed her planet to the ground, Starfire offered her life in exchange for her people's freedom. Begrudingly her parents agreed and, Starfire was traded over. The minute she was thrown into prison it was soon revealed that she wasn't be destroyed, but sent straight to the Citadel. Once there, Starfire was mercilessly abused and exploited by her captors physically and moreso sexually. During one of her guards routine "exploits" they let it slip that it was not a faceless nemesis of her people who ordered her sentence, but her own sister Blackfire, now head of the Citadel.

Fueled by blind rage, Starfire slaughtered every single guard on her watch and stormed through the entire fortress, hell-bent on murdering Blackfire. The showdown between both sisters was cataclysmic, yet was interrupted when a marauding band know as the Psions captured them both and took them as prisoner. There, the Psions experimented on them and inadvertently gave them the ability to harness raw solar energy and expel it in ground-leveling projectiles. The Citadel attacked the Psions' base to retrieve Blackfire; through all of the chaos Starfire managed to escape. Skipping a subship, the alien princess broke the space barrier and flashed through the vegan sector.......crash landing on Earth where her history melded with the foundation of the Teen Titans.

To this day, Koriand'r's return to her planet has been vehemently forbidden by the Grand Rulers and, even though it's been an entire year since she and the others founded their team, she has not shared a syllable of her past......and does not wish to.
